Silver & Gold Blog Hop

Welcome to our Silver & Gold Blog Hop!  We will be showcasing our Silver & Gold paper collection with various projects created by talented Close to My Heart consultants.  If you are visiting from Cheryl's blog then you are on the right track.

Did you know there are coordinating Picture My Life Cards to the Silver & Gold papers?  I grabbed a set and wanted to see how much I could make out of one package.

I started with this scrapbook layout.  Yes, these are last years pictures.  It is never to late to scrap your memories!  I used White and Pewter cardstock as the base and Pebble as an accent color under my photos.  I used Gold Ribbon you can find in the Basics Ribbon Pack as my embellishment.

I didn't stop there!  Using our Basic Tags thin cuts I cut out a few tags.  I was able to get 3 from one PML card, with a little strip leftover I could use for other projects.  I used the gold ribbon and gray and gold ribbon from the Basic Ribbon Pack to tie on to my tags.  The Basic Ribbon pack is on sale until the end of the month!  You can check out the sale HERE

One of my favorite things to do is use PML cards to create greeting cards.  It is so fast and easy and they make beautiful cards.  I simply cut down the larger PML's to fit onto our white card bases.  The smaller PML's I layered with some of our Basic Fundamental patterned papers (they are on sale too!).  I added some Red Gems.

I have quite a few cards leftover to create even more!  The Silver & Gold Picture My Life cards are a great deal at only $6.95 for a package of 36 cards!

Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Crafting!

Punny Pals - Quick Cards

I needed a few cards to mail out this week and Punny Pals was sitting on my desk from other projects I have been working on.  I knew I wanted to try a black and white background paper using all the cute animals in the Punny Pals set, so that's where I started.

I loaded up all the pals on a 4x4 acrylix block.  Inked it up with black ink and stamped on white cardstock.  I used the black pattern paper from the Cats & Bats paper packet, or you can use black cardstock as my base.  I then layered Emerald cardstock and then black pattern paper again.  The circles I used my cricut and the basic circles thin cuts.  I added a little color to the sentiment pal using shin han markers.  The stripes across the card are black shimmer trim, which adds just the right amount of sparkle.  I am happy how these turned out and excited to mail them to my friends this week!

Beary Christmas Blog Hop

Welcome to our Beary Christmas Blog Hop!  We will be showcasing our Beary Christmas collection with various projects created by talented Close to My Heart consultants.  If you are visiting from Carol's Blog then you are on the right track.

This month I created a card inspired by my friend Nicole.  I love all the designs in the Beary Christmas paper packet I tried to feature as many as I could on one card.   I also used one of my favorite stamp sets in the new Holiday Expressions idea book, The Thought That Counts.  This stamp set has so many fun sayings for the holidays.  It also coordinates with our  Basic Tags Thin Cuts.  I used some red and silver shimmer trim for some sparkle and whisper twine knotted on the tag.  I sponged the outside of the card with Pewter ink.  I used Cranberry ink for the outline of the tag, New England Ivy for the Naughty and Nice, and Fern for the trees.

This card I made for a team swap.  I kept it simple with the Cranberry, white, and black theme.  Instead of using a tag with the sentiment I cut out circles on my cricut and then stamped the presents in black across the card.

Golden Moments Cut Above Card Kit - Facebook Video

Today on Facebook Live I demonstrated 4 different cards using the Golden Moments Cut Above Card Kit.  You can watch HERE on my Craft with Julie Facebook Group.  It is a closed group so you do have to request to join, but you will have access to all my other Facebook live tutorials and I am always posting artwork!

We started with this Golden Moment Cut Above Kit.  It comes with 10 card bases, 10 envelopes, and 10 die-cut banners (stamps are sold separately - see further down the post for stamp sets).

I first created one just like shown in the idea book.  I added a little 3D foam behind the sentiment to make it pop.

This one I used shin han markers to color in the images.  The gold embossing resists the ink making it super easy to color in.  I added gold glitter gems for some extra bling.

These two cards I created using one card base cut in half.  The top one I cut of 1/4 of an inch off on 2 sides and attached to a white card base.  I attached the banner off to the side and trimmed to give it a little different look.  I added some gold glitter gems for some bling.  The next card I used the back of the card base as cardstock.  I used the basic fundamental pattern paper collection.  I just love the Bashful and Gray tones together!  I used a little sparkle next to the sentiment for some bling.

Close to My Heart has created 4 different sentiments to compliment this card kit.  You can choose from any of these sets, or if you are like me I had to have all 4!
                                           M1185                                              M1186

                                       M1188                                                M1187

They even offer this awesome Stamping Starter Kit to get you going if you are new to stamping.   By purchasing the items in a bundle you get a little discount off the retail price of each individual item.

Back to School Teacher Gift - Facebook Live Video

Today on Facebook Live I demonstrated how I put this Teacher Emergency Kit together.  You can watch HERE on my Craft with Julie Facebook Group.  It is a closed group so you do have to request to join, but you will have access to all my other facebook live tutorials and awesome artwork!

I purchased all the goodies that went inside the box from my local dollar store.  This made for a very inexpensive, but useful gift!

For the tag I used the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.  I use some twine from my stash and wrapped it around a few times.

The pattern paper is from the Fundamentals Adventure paper.  The apple is from the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge cut in Cocoa, Willow, Colonial White, and Cranberry.  I used the black Shin Han marker for the seeds.  I added liquid glass to the seeds to give them shine and dimension and then shimmer brush to add some glitter to the inside of the apple.

Join me next Tuesday LIVE for some more creating fun!

Jack Blog Hop

Welcome to our Jack Blog Hop!  We will be showcasing our Jack collection with various projects created by talented Close to My Heart consultants.  If you are visiting from Ramona's Blog then you are on the right track.

This month I wanted to get back to my roots and feature a scrapbook layout.  I started scrapbooking when I was in high school.  Scrapbooking is what got me started in paper crafting.  Creating this layout made me so happy!  I love the Jack paper collection and was excited I had some camping pictures from this summer to inspire this layout.

Read on for all the details or hop along to Martha's Blog.

I started with laying out the Jack patterned papers, complements and accents.  I grabbed the newest Close to My Heart how to book, Make It From Your Heart.  I LOVE this new idea book!  So many great patterns and they have updated the artwork to give even more ideas.  There is a section of ideas for pocket scrapbooking, which is the one I chose, pattern 33.

This is the layout before I added in pocket pages.
Pocket pages are a fast and easy way to add more photos.

The first pocket page I added I included the title for the layout.  Isn't the font so cute?!  It is from our newest cricut cartrige You Are Here.  The dots are the white dot accents.  I used two of the Pocket Plus Design 1.

The second pocket page I added a few more cricut cuts from the You Are Here cartridge. The log cabin, trees and hiking boots are also cut from the You Are Here cartridge.

The last pocket page I added journaling.  The smore stick and trees are from the You Are Here cricut cartrige.  Here is a closer look at the cricut cuts:

I really enjoyed getting back to scrapbooking and hope to do more really soon!
Thanks for stopping by!
