Prickly Pear Blog Hop

Welcome to our Prickly Pear Blog Hop! We will be showcasing our Prickly Pear collection with various projects created by talented Close to my Heart consultants. If you are visiting from Erica's Blog then you are on the right track.

I love the stamp set in the Let's Party Workshop Your Way.   The sayings in the stamp set are fun and something different than just a regular happy birthday sentiment.  This workshop includes the patterned paper that is also featured with the Prickly Pear paper packet.  Flipping the patterned paper back and forth the blue stripe really spoke to me.  Isn't it great that Close to My Heart gives us two options on every pattern paper?  The Let's Party kit is great how it is, but I wanted to add different colors and more layers to see how it would look.  Raspberry is one of my favorite colors and I love how it goes so well with the blue pattern paper and the Sapphire cardstock.   Scroll down for all the details or hop along to Ramona's Blog.

For this card I layered Raspberry and Sapphire cardstock under the Prickly Pear patterned paper.  I stamped the banner in Sapphire and Raspberry ink and cut out with my micro-tip scissors.  I tied some blue Burlap Ribbon around the sentiment piece and stamped the senitment in Sapphire ink.  I added a few clear sparkles for some bling.

For this card I simply added the Prickly Pear patterned paper, Raspberry, and Sapphire cardstock pieces.  I stamped the sentiment in Raspberry ink.  I stamped the star in Sapphire ink on a scrap piece of white cardstock and cut out with my micro-tip scissors.  I used 3D foam to pop it up.  I tied some Blue Burlap ribbon around the sentiment and added some clear sparkles for some bling.

....and why not make a matching gift bag?  I used the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to cut the banner pieces.  The Happy Birthday is a thin cut and is the perfect size for cards and other projects.  I added a little bling to the banners and tied a bow on the handle with blue burlap ribbon.

These are the cards shown in the kit.  The colors are really great for a more masculine card.   You can see how  by simply flipping the patterns and adding a few more layers, how you can get a different look with the same pattern.

The Let's Party Workshop your Way kit comes with everything seen here to create 12 cards.  The stamp set is also included and a must have if you ask me.
