Seasonal Expressions 1 Blog Hop

Welcome to our Close to My Heart Seasonal Expressions-1 Blog Hop! We will be showcasing items from our new Seasonal Expressions idea book.

This is the project I have been working on for our blog hop, a Sugar Rush gift box:

If you are visiting from Carol's Blog then you are on the right track. Next check out Erica's blog or read on for more details on my Sugar Rush projects.

I have loved creating with the latest Close to My Heart paper collection, Sugar Rush.

My project inspiration came from our family vacation we took to Washington this summer. Good things do come in a pink box!

My pink is Close to My Heart's Blossom. I also used the light pink pattern from the Sugar Rush paper packet. I added a few more layers of patterns and a gold and white ribbon to tie it all together. The pattern for this mini box can be found at the end of this post.

The banner comes from the Sugar Rush Cardmaking stamp set and coordinating thin cuts stamped in Pomegranate Ink. You can purchase the stamp set alone or grab the stamp set and thin cuts in a bundle! What a great deal!

For the inside I used more pattern paper and some of the coordinating washi tape. On the inside lid of the box I simply attached all the sides of the cardstock except for the top to create a pocket for a gift card or cash.

To anchor the bottom I used an old ribbon spool I had laying around. This added height and weight. The donuts were cut using thin cuts from pattern papers and cardstock and popped up with 3D foam. I used liquid glass on the frosting to add a shine like real donuts.

I was really happy how this project turned out. It was fast, easy, and fun!

All of these items can be purchase on my website www.juliescott.closetomyheart.com
